The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3305
Shuba narrates that once Ibn Abbas saw a man prostrating with his forearms spread on the ground. He said, "This is how a dog sits! I have seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prostrating, and in that position the whiteness of his armpits would be visible." (Meaning his arms would be spaced out from his sides).

شعبہ رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے ایک آدمی کو دیکھا کہ اس نے سجدہ کرتے ہوئے اپنے بازو زمین پر بچھا دیئے، انہوں نے فرمایا: اس طرح تو کتا بیٹھتا ہے، میں نے دیکھا ہے کہ نبی ﷺ جب سجدہ کرتے تھے تو آپ ﷺ کی مبارک بغلوں کی سفیدی دکھائی دیتی تھی (یعنی ہاتھ اتنے جدا ہوتے تھے)۔
Shuba Rahimahullah kahte hain ki Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne ek aadmi ko dekha ki usne sajdah karte huye apne bazu zameen par bichha diye, unhon ne farmaya: Is tarah to kutta baithta hai, maine dekha hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab sajdah karte the to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki mubarak baghlon ki safedi dikhayi deti thi (yani hath itne juda hote the).
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ: رَأَى ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَجُلًا سَاجِدًا، قَدْ ابْتَسَطَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : هَكَذَا يَرْبِضُ الْكَلْبُ،" رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَجَدَ رَأَيْتُ بَيَاضَ إِبْطَيْهِ".
