Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3349
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to offer two rak'ahs (shortened prayer) when he was traveling.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ جب سفر پر ہوتے تو دو رکعت نماز (قصر) ہی پڑھتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ شُفَيٍّ ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ:" كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كَانَ مُسَافِرًا صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ".
