The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3359
A'mash رحمه الله said: I asked Ibrahim: What should one do if only one person is praying behind the Imam? He said: He should stand on the Imam's left. I mentioned to him the hadith of Ibn Abbas رضی اللہ عنہما that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم made him stand on his right, so he accepted it.

اعمش رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابراہیم سے پوچھا کہ اگر امام کے ساتھ صرف ایک آدمی نماز پڑھ رہا ہو تو کیا کرے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ امام کی بائیں جانب کھڑا ہو، میں نے ان سے سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کی یہ حدیث ذکر کی کہ نبی ﷺ نے انہیں اپنی دائیں جانب کھڑا کیا تھا تو انہوں نے اسے قبول کر لیا۔
Aamash rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ki maine Ibrahim se poocha ki agar Imam ke saath sirf ek aadmi namaz padh raha ho to kya kare? Unhon ne kaha ki Imam ki bayen jaanib khara ho, maine unse سيدna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ki ye hadees zikar ki ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen apni dayen jaanib khara kiya tha to unhon ne use qubool kar liya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصَلِّي مَعَ الْإِمَامِ؟ فَقَالَ: يَقُومُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ. فَقُلْتُ: حَدَّثَنِي سُمَيْعٌ الزَّيَّاتُ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يُحَدِّثُ" أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَقَامَهُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، فَأَخَذَ بِهِ".
