The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3506
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Sayyiduna Sa'd ibn 'Ubada (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that his mother had made a vow, but she died before she could fulfill it. So what is the ruling? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You fulfill it on her behalf."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا سعد بن عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی ﷺ سے پوچھا کہ ان کی والدہ نے ایک منت مانی تھی، لیکن اسے پورا کرنے سے پہلے ہی ان کا انتقال ہو گیا، اب کیا حکم ہے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”آپ ان کی طرف سے اسے پورا کردیں۔“
Sayyedna Ibn Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai keh ek martaba Sayyedna Saad bin Ubadah Raziallahu Anhu ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se poocha keh un ki walida ne ek mannat maani thi, lekin usey poora karne se pehle hi un ka inteqal ho gaya, ab kya hukum hai? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Aap un ki taraf se usey poora kar den."
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: اسْتَفْتَى سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نَذْرٍ عَلَى أُمِّهِ تُوُفِّيَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقْضِيَهُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" اقْضِهِ عَنْهَا".
