Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4362
Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) had precedence over all people in four things: ① Regarding the prisoners of Badr, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had advised to kill them, Allah revealed this verse in his agreement: "Had it not been for a decree from Allah that had already preceded, a severe punishment would have seized you for what you took." [Al-Anfal: 68] ② Regarding Hijab, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) advised to cover the pure wives (of the Prophet). Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Ibn Khattab! You are commanding us while revelation descends in our homes?" Upon this, Allah revealed this verse: "And when you ask them (the wives of the Prophet) for something, ask them from behind a partition." [Al-Ahzab: 53] ③ Regarding the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayer for him: "O Allah, strengthen Islam through Umar." ④ In terms of opinion about Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), as he was the first to pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him).

سیدنا ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ سیدنا عمر فاروق رضی اللہ عنہ تمام لوگوں پر چار چیزوں میں فضیلت رکھتے ہیں: ① غزوہ بدر کے قیدیوں کے بارے، سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں قتل کرنے کا مشورہ دیا تھا، اللہ نے ان کی موافقت میں یہ آیت نازل فرمائی: «﴿لَوْلَا كِتَابٌ مِنَ اللّٰهِ سَبَقَ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِيمَا أَخَذْتُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ﴾» [الأنفال: 68] ② حجاب کے بارے سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ازواج مطہرات کو پردہ کرنے کا مشورہ دیا تھا، سیدنا زینب رضی اللہ عنہا فرمانے لگیں: اے ابن خطاب! تم ہم پر حکم چلاتے ہو جب کہ ہمارے گھروں میں وحی نازل ہوتی ہے؟ اس پر اللہ نے یہ آیت نازل فرمائی: «﴿وَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَاعًا فَاسْأَلُوهُنَّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ﴾» [الأحزاب: 53] ”جب تم ان سے کوئی چیز مانگو تو پردے کے پیچھے سے مانگو۔“ ③ نبی ﷺ کی ان کے حق میں دعا کے بارے کہ ”اے اللہ! عمر کے ذریعے اسلام کو تقویت عطا فرما۔“ ④ سیدنا ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ کے بارے رائے کے اعتبار سے کہ انہوں نے ہی سب سے پہلے سیدنا ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ کی بیعت کی تھی۔
Sayyidna Ibn Masood Raziallahu Anhu farmate hain ke Sayyidna Umar Farooq Raziallahu Anhu tamam logon par chaar cheezon mein fazilat rakhte hain: 1. Ghazwah Badr ke qaidion ke bare, Sayyidna Umar Raziallahu Anhu ne unhen qatl karne ka mashwara diya tha, Allah ne un ki muwafqat mein yeh aayat nazil farmai: «﴿Lawla kitabun minallahi sabaqa lamassakum feema akhaztum azabun azeem﴾» [alAnfal: 68] 2. Hijab ke bare Sayyidna Umar Raziallahu Anhu ne azwaj mutahhirat ko parda karne ka mashwara diya tha, Sayyidna Zainab Raziallahu Anha farmane lagi: Aye Ibn Khattab! Tum hum par hukm chalate ho jab ke hamare gharon mein wahi nazil hoti hai? Is par Allah ne yeh aayat nazil farmai: «﴿Wa iza saaltumoohunna mata'an fas'aloohunnna min warai hijab﴾» [alAhzab: 53] ”Jab tum un se koi cheez mango to parde ke peeche se mango.“ 3. Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki un ke haq mein dua ke bare ke ”Aye Allah! Umar ke zarye Islam ko taqwiat ata farma.“ 4. Sayyidna Abu Bakr Siddique Raziallahu Anhu ke bare raaye ke aitbaar se ke unhon ne hi sab se pehle Sayyidna Abu Bakr Siddique Raziallahu Anhu ki bai'at ki thi.
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَهْشَلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ :" فَضَلَ النَّاسَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ بِأَرْبَعٍ: بِذِكْرِ الْأَسْرَى يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ، أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِهِمْ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: لَوْلا كِتَابٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ سَبَقَ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِيمَا أَخَذْتُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ سورة الأنفال آية 68، وَبِذِكْرِهِ الْحِجَابَ، أَمَرَ نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَحْتَجِبْنَ، فَقَالَتْ لَهُ زَيْنَبُ: وَإِنَّكَ عَلَيْنَا يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، وَالْوَحْيُ يَنْزِلُ فِي بُيُوتِنَا، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَاعًا فَاسْأَلُوهُنَّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ سورة الأحزاب آية 53، وَبِدَعْوَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَهُ:" اللَّهُمَّ أَيِّدْ الْإِسْلَامَ بِعُمَرَ"، وَبِرَأْيِهِ فِي أَبِي بَكْرٍ، كَانَ أَوَّلَ النَّاسِ بَايَعَهُ.
