Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4518
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to offer voluntary prayers on his mount (no matter which direction it was facing).

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ اپنی سواری پر (خواہ اس کا رخ کسی بھی سمت میں ہوتا) نفل نماز پڑھ لیا کرتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ" يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ".
