Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4593
Narrated by Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) swearing by his father, so he said, "Allah forbids you from swearing by your forefathers. So whoever among you wants to swear an oath, let him swear by Allah, otherwise remain silent."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو اپنے باپ کی قسم کھاتے ہوئے سنا تو فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ تمہیں اپنے آباؤ اجداد کے نام کی قسمیں کھانے سے روکتا ہے اس لئے جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص قسم کھانا چاہے تو اللہ کے نام کی قسم کھائے ورنہ خاموش رہے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Sayyidna Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko apne baap ki qasam khate huye suna to farmaya ki Allah Ta'ala tumhen apne abao ajdad ke naam ki qasmen khane se rokta hai is liye jab tum mein se koi shakhs qasam khana chahe to Allah ke naam ki qasam khaye warna khamosh rahe.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : أَدْرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُمَر، وَهُوَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: وَأَبِي، وَأَبِي! فَقَالَ:" إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ، فَمَنْ كَانَ حَالِفًا، فَلْيَحْلِفْ بِاللَّهِ، وَإِلَّا فَلْيَصْمُتْ".
