Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4599
Mujaahid (rahimahullah) narrates that once, I had the honor of accompanying Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ((رضي الله تعالى عنه)) on a journey from Makkah Mukarramah to Madinah Munawwarah. During this journey, I only heard him narrate one hadith of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). He said that once, we were sitting with the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) when a bunch of dates was brought to him. The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said, “There is a tree among the trees which is like a Muslim. (Tell me which tree is it?).” I wanted to say that it was the date palm tree, but then I noticed that I was the youngest amongst all those present, so I remained silent. Then, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) himself said that it was the date palm tree.

مجاہد رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ مجھے مکہ مکرمہ سے مدینہ منورہ تک کے سفر میں سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کی رفاقت کا شرف حاصل ہوا، اس دوران میں نے انہیں نبی کریم ﷺ کی صرف ایک ہی حدیث بیان کرتے ہوئے سنا اور وہ یہ کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ کے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ کہیں سے کھجوروں کا ایک گچھا نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں آیا۔ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”درختوں میں سے ایک درخت ایسا ہے جو مسلمان کی طرح ہے (بتاؤ وہ کون سادرخت ہے؟)“ میں نے کہنا چاہا کہ وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے لیکن میں نے دیکھا تو اس مجلس میں شریک تمام لوگوں میں سب سے زیادہ چھوٹا میں ہی تھا، اس لئے خاموش ہو گیا، پھر خود نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہی فرمایا کہ وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے۔
Mujahid Rahmatullah Alaih kehte hain ke ek martaba mujhe Makkah Mukarramah se Madinah Munawwarah tak ke safar mein Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ki rafaqat ka sharaf hasil hua, is dauran mein ne unhein Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki sirf ek hi hadees bayan karte hue suna aur wo ye ke ek martaba hum log Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas baithe hue the ke kahin se khajuron ka ek guccha Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein aaya. Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Darkhton mein se ek darakht aisa hai jo musalman ki tarah hai (batao wo kaun sa darakht hai?)“ mein ne kehna chaha ke wo khajoor ka darakht hai lekin mein ne dekha to is majlis mein sharik tamam logon mein sab se zyada chhota mein hi tha, is liye khamosh ho gaya, phir khud Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hi farmaya ke wo khajoor ka darakht hai.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، قَالَ: صَحِبْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا حَدِيثًا: كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأُتِيَ بِجُمَّارَةٍ، فَقَالَ:" إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً مَثَلُهَا كَمَثَلِ الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ"، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ: هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ، فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ، فَسَكَتُّ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ".
