Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4677
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a gold ring made. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to wear it with the stone towards his palm. People also started making rings. Upon this, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) threw it away and had a silver ring made.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے سونے کی انگوٹھی بنوائی اس کا نگینہ آپ ﷺ ہتھیلی کی طرف کر لیتے تھے، لوگوں نے بھی انگوٹھیاں بنوا لیں جس پر نبی کریم ﷺ نے اسے پھینک دیا اور چاندی کی انگوٹھی بنوا لی۔
Sayyidaana Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sone ki anguthi banwai iska nageena Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hatheli ki taraf kar lete the, logon ne bhi anguthiyan banwa lein jis par Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ise phenk diya aur chandi ki anguthi banwa li.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ:" اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَكَانَ يَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي كَفَّهُ، فَاتَّخَذَهُ النَّاسُ، فَرَمَى بِهِ، وَاتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ".
