Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4691
It is narrated on the authority of Nafi', probably from Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), that Sayyidina Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to stay in Makkah Mukarramah during the days of Mina in order to serve the pilgrims by providing them with water. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission.

نافع رحمہ اللہ سے غالباً سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے حوالے سے مروی ہے کہ سیدنا عباس رضی اللہ عنہ نے حاجیوں کو پانی پلانے کی خدمت میں سر انجام دینے کے لئے نبی کریم ﷺ سے منٰی کے ایام میں مکہ مکرمہ میں ہی رہنے کی اجازت چاہی تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے انہیں اجازت دے دی۔
Nafay rehmatullah alaih se ghaliban sayyiduna Ibn e Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke hawale se marvi hai ke sayyiduna Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne hajiyon ko pani pilane ki khidmat mein sar anjam dene ke liye Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se minnat ke ayyam mein Makkah Mukarramah mein hi rehne ki ijazat chahi to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen ijazat de di.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، قَال: لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ اسْتَأْذَنَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَنْ يَبِيتَ بِمَكَّةَ أَيَّامَ مِنًي مِنْ أَجْلِ السِّقَايَةِ، فَرَخَّصَ لَهُ".
