Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4713
Narrated by Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a silk garment being sold. He said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah, if you buy this and wear it on Fridays or for the delegations?". The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "This is worn by the one who has no share in the Hereafter." After a few days, some silk garments came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from somewhere. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave one of these garments to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah, you yourself said about it what I heard, and now you have given me this silk garment?". The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I have sent it to you so that you may sell it and use its price or give it to someone else to wear."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ایک ریشمی جوڑا فروخت ہوتے ہوئے دیکھا، تو نبی کریم ﷺ سے کہنے لگے کہ اگر آپ اسے خرید لیتے، تو جمعہ کے دن پہن لیا کرتے یا وفود کے سامنے پہن لیا کرتے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”یہ وہ شخص پہنتا ہے جس کا آخرت میں کوئی حصہ نہ ہو۔“ چند دن بعد نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں کہیں سے چند ریشمی جوڑے آئے، نبی کریم ﷺ نے ان میں سے ایک جوڑا سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو بھی بھجوا دیا سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کہنے لگے کہ آپ نے خود ہی تو اس کے متعلق وہ بات فرمائی تھی جو میں نے سنی تھی اور اب آپ ہی نے مجھے یہ ریشمی جوڑا بھیج دیا؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”میں نے تمہیں یہ اس لئے بھجوایا ہے کہ تم اسے فروخت کر کے اس کی قیمت اپنے استعمال میں لے آؤ یا کسی کو پہنا دو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba Sayyidna Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne ek reshmi joda farokht hote huye dekha, to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se kehne lage ki agar aap ise kharid lete, to Jumma ke din pehen liya karte ya wufud ke samne pehen liya karte? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Yeh woh shakhs pehenta hai jis ka akhirat mein koi hissa na ho." Chand din baad Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein kahin se chand reshmi jode aaye, Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne in mein se ek joda Sayyidna Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko bhi bhej diya. Sayyidna Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehne lage ki aap ne khud hi to iske mutalliq woh baat farmaayi thi jo maine suni thi aur ab aap hi ne mujhe yeh reshmi joda bhi bhej diya? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Maine tumhein yeh isliye bhejwwaya hai ki tum ise farokht kar ke iski qeemat apne istemal mein le aao ya kisi ko pehna do."
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَأَى حُلَّةَ سِيَرَاءَ، أَوْ حَرِيرٍ تُبَاعُ، فَقَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَوْ اشْتَرَيْتَ هَذِهِ تَلْبَسُهَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَوْ لِلْوُفُودِ؟ قَالَ:" إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ"، قَالَ: فَأُهْدِيَ إليَّ ِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهَا حُلَلٌ، فَبَعَثَ إِلَى عُمَرَ مِنْهَا بِحُلَّةٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مِنْكَ تَقُولُ مَا قُلْتَ وَبَعَثْتَ إِلَيَّ بِهَا؟ قَالَ:" إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَبِيعَهَا أَوْ تَكْسُوَهَا".
