Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4928
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, during I'tikaf (spiritual retreat), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said in a sermon: "Whoever among you stands up for prayer, he is actually conversing with his Lord, so you should know that you are conversing with your Lord. And do not raise your voices above one another in prayer."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی اللہ ﷺ نے اعتکاف کے دوران خطبہ دیتے ہوئے ارشاد فرمایا: ”تم میں سے جو شخص بھی نماز پڑھنے کے لئے کھڑا ہوتا ہے، درحقیقت وہ اپنے رب سے مناجات کرتا ہے اس لئے تمہیں معلوم ہونا چاہئے کہ تم اپنے رب سے مناجات کر رہے ہو؟ اور تم نماز میں ایک دوسرے سے اونچی قرأت نہ کیا کرو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne itikaf ke doran khutba dete huye irshad farmaya: ”Tum mein se jo shakhs bhi namaz padhne ke liye khara hota hai, darhaqeeqat wo apne Rab se munajat karta hai is liye tumhen maloom hona chahiye ki tum apne Rab se munajat kar rahe ho? Aur tum namaz mein ek dusre se oonchi qiraat na kiya karo.“
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ صَدَقَةَ الْمَكِّيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اعْتَكَفَ وَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ، فَقَالَ:" أَمَا إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا قَامَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ، فَلْيَعْلَمْ أَحَدُكُمْ مَا يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ، وَلَا يَجْهَرْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ".
