Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4945
Saeed bin Jubair (May Allah have mercy on him) said that the issue of a person performing Li'an (mutual imprecation) was posed to Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them both). He said, "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) separated the husband and wife and said, 'Allah knows that one of you is definitely lying. So, is any one of you willing to repent?' But neither of them agreed. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) repeated this thrice in front of them."

سعید بن جبیر رحمتہ اللہ علیہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے لعان کر نے والے کے متعلق مسئلہ پوچھا، انہوں نے فرمایا کہ نبی ﷺ نے ایسے میاں بیوی کے درمیان تفریق کرا دی تھی اور فرمایا تھا کہ اللہ جانتا ہے تم میں سے کوئی ایک ضرور جھوٹا ہے، تو کیا تم میں سے کوئی توبہ کرنے کے لئے تیار ہے؟ لیکن ان میں سے کوئی بھی تیار نہ ہوا، نبی ﷺ نے تین مرتبہ ان کے سامنے یہ بات دہرائی۔
Saeed bin Jubair rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ki Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se lian karne wale ke mutalliq masla poocha, unhon ne farmaya ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne aise miyan biwi ke darmiyan tafreeq kara di thi aur farmaya tha ki Allah janta hai tum mein se koi ek zaroor jhoota hai, to kya tum mein se koi tauba karne ke liye taiyar hai? Lekin un mein se koi bhi taiyar na hua, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne teen martaba un ke samne yeh baat dohrai.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لابْنِ عُمَرَ : رَجُلٌ لاعَنَ امْرَأَتَهُ؟ فَقَالَ: فَرَّقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْ بَنِي الْعَجْلانِ، وَقَالَ:" إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمَا كَاذِبٌ فَهَلْ مِنْكُمَا تَائِبٌ؟" ثَلاثًا.
