The Musnad of Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them both)
مسنَد عَبدِ اللَّهِ بنِ عمَرَ بنِ الخَطَّابِ رَضِیَ اللَّه تَعَالَى عَنهمَا
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4979
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once, Sayyidna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wearing a silk garment. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw him and said, "Didn't you give this to me to wear?" Sayyidna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Tear it up and divide it into headscarves for your women, or fulfill your needs with it."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا اسامہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں ریشمی لباس پہن کر آئے، نبی ﷺ نے انہیں دیکھا تو وہ کہنے لگے کہ آپ ہی نے تو مجھے پہنایا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اسے پھاڑ کر اپنی عورتوں کے درمیان دوپٹے تقسیم کر دو یا اپنی ضرورت پوری کر لو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a marvi hai ki aik martaba Sayyidna Usama (رضي الله تعالى عنه) Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein reshmi libas pehen kar aaye, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen dekha to wo kehne lage ki aap hi ne to mujhe pehnaya hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Ise phaar kar apni auraton ke darmiyan dopatte taqsim kar do ya apni zaroorat poori kar lo.”
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنِي حَنْظَلَةُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: وَأَتَاهُ أُسَامَةُ وَقَدْ لَبِسَهَا، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَ: أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِي، قَالَ:" شَقِّقْهَا بَيْنَ نِسَائِكَ خُمُرًا، أَوْ اقْضِ بِهَا حَاجَتَكَ".
