Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4978
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once, Sayyidna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a silk garment being sold. He said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "If you were to buy this, you could wear it in front of the delegations." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "This is worn by the one who will have no share in the Hereafter." A few days later, some silk garments came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as gifts. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave one of those garments to Sayyidna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyidna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "But you yourself said what I have heard about this (silk)!" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I have sent this to you so that you may sell it and utilize its price or make scarves for your family from it." Similarly, Sayyidna Usamah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wearing that silk garment. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I did not give this to you to wear. I gave it to you so that you may sell it." I do not know whether the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Sayyidna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) or not, "or make scarves for your family from it."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ایک ریشمی جوڑا فروخت ہوتے ہوئے دیکھا، تو نبی ﷺ سے کہنے لگے کہ اگر آپ اسے خرید لیتے تو وفود کے سامنے پہن لیا کرتے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”یہ وہ شخص پہنتا ہے جس کا آخرت میں کوئی حصہ نہ ہو“، چند دن بعد نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں کہیں سے چند ریشمی حلے آئے، نبی ﷺ نے ان میں سے ایک جوڑا سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو بھی بھجوا دیا، سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کہنے لگے کہ آپ نے خود ہی تو اس کے متعلق وہ بات فرمائی تھی جو میں نے سنی تھی اور اب آپ ہی نے مجھے یہ ریشمی جوڑا بھیج دیا؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”میں نے تمہیں یہ اس لئے بھجوایا ہے کہ تم اسے فروخت کر کے اس کی قیمت اپنے استعمال میں لے آؤ یا اپنے گھر والوں کو اس کے دوپٹے بنا دو۔“ اسی طرح سیدنا اسامہ رضی اللہ عنہ بارگاہ نبوت میں حاضر ہوئے تو انہوں نے وہ ریشمی جوڑا پہن رکھا تھا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”میں نے یہ تمہیں پہننے کے لئے نہیں بھجوایا تھا، میں نے تو اس لئے بھجوایا تھا کہ تم اسے فروخت کر دو“ یہ مجھے معلوم نہیں کہ نبی ﷺ نے سیدنا اسامہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے یہ فرمایا تھا یا نہیں کہ اپنے گھر والوں کو اس کے دوپٹے بنا دو۔
Sayyidina Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik martaba Sayyidina Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne aik reshmi joda farokht hote hue dekha, to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se kehne lage ki agar aap ise kharid lete to wufood ke samne pehen liya karte? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Yeh woh shakhs pehenta hai jis ka akhirat mein koi hissa na ho”, chand din baad Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein kahin se chand reshmi hale aaye, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne in mein se aik joda Sayyidina Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko bhi bhej diya, Sayyidina Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehne lage ki aap ne khud hi to iske mutalliq woh baat farmaayi thi jo mein ne suni thi aur ab aap hi ne mujhe yeh reshmi joda bhi bhej diya? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Mein ne tumhein yeh is liye bhejwwaya hai ki tum ise farokht kar ke iski qeemat apne istemal mein le aao ya apne ghar walon ko iske dupatte bana do.” Isi tarah Sayyidina Usama (رضي الله تعالى عنه) bargah nabuwat mein hazir hue to unhon ne woh reshmi joda pehen rakha tha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Mein ne yeh tumhein pehenne ke liye nahin bhejwwaya tha, mein ne to is liye bhejwwaya tha ki tum ise farokht kar do” yeh mujhe maloom nahin ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Sayyidina Usama (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se yeh farmaya tha ya nahin ki apne ghar walon ko iske dupatte bana do.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ سَالِمًا ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ: إِنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِحُلَّةِ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، لَوْ اشْتَرَيْتَ هَذِهِ الْحُلَّةَ تَلْبَسَهَا إِذَا قَدِمَ عَلَيْكَ وُفُودُ النَّاسِ؟ فَقَالَ:" إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذَا مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ"، ثُمَّ أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِحُلَلٍ ثَلَاثٍ، فَبَعَثَ إِلَى عُمَرَ بِحُلَّةٍ، وَإِلَى عَلِيٍّ بِحُلَّةٍ، وَإِلَى أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ بِحُلَّةٍ، فَأَتَى عُمَرُ رضي الله عنه بِحُلَّتِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، بَعَثْتَ إِلَيَّ بِهَذِهِ، وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُكَ قُلْتَ فِيهَا مَا قُلْتَ؟ قَالَ:" إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَبِيعَهَا أَوْ تُشَقِّقَهَا لِأَهْلِكَ خُمُرًا"، قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: وَأَتَاهُ أُسَامَةُ وَعَلَيْهِ الْحُلَّةُ، فَقَالَ:" إِنِّي لَمْ أَبْعَثْ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَلْبَسَهَا، إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَبِيعَهَا"، مَا أَدْرِي أَقَالَ لِأُسَامَةَ:" تُشَقِّقُهَا خُمُرًا" أَمْ لَا، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ: وَجَدَ عُمَرُ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.
