Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5041
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that he prayed behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), behind the two Sheikhs (Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both), and for six years also behind Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) in Mina. All of them used to pray the prayer of travelers, that is, two rak'ahs. Later, Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) started praying the full prayer.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ، حضرات شیخین رضی اللہ عنہم کے ساتھ اور چھ سال سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ بھی منٰی میں نماز پڑھی ہے، یہ سب حضرات مسافروں والی نماز یعنی دو رکعتیں پڑھتے تھے، بعد میں سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ مکمل نماز پڑھنے لگے تھے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath, Hazrat Shaykhayn ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke sath aur chhe saal Sayyidna Usman (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke sath bhi Munna mein Namaz parhayi hai, ye sab hazrat musafiro wali Namaz yani do rakat parhte the, baad mein Sayyidna Usman (رضي الله تعالى عنه) mukammal Namaz parhne lage the.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ خُبَيْبٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَكَانَ" يُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ السَّفَرِ يَعْنِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ سِتَّ سِنِينَ مِنْ إِمْرَتِهِ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى أَرْبَعًا".
