Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5076
Abdullah bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I once heard Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrating this hadith on the authority of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he forbade using Wars and saffron. I asked: For the Muharram? He replied: Yes.

عبداللہ بن دینار رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ایک مرتبہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کو نبی ﷺ کے حوالے سے یہ حدیث بیان کرتے ہوئے سنا کہ آپ ﷺ نے ورس اور زعفران سے منع فرمایا ہے، میں نے پوچھا: محرم کو؟ فرمایا: ہاں۔
Abdullah bin Dinaar rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke main ne aik martaba Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ko Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hawale se ye hadees bayaan karte huye suna ke aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne wars aur zaafran se mana farmaya hai, main ne poocha: muhrim ko? Farmaya: Haan.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي: حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ" نَهَى عَنْ الْوَرْسِ وَالزَّعْفَرَانِ"، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: فَقُلْتُ: أَنَا لِلْمُحْرِمِ؟ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ.
