Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5079
It is narrated on the authority of our leader Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The example of a hypocrite is that of a sheep that grazes between two flocks, joining sometimes one flock and sometimes the other, not knowing to which it belongs.”

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”منافق کی مثال اس بکری کی سی ہے، جو دو ریوڑوں کے درمیان ہو، کبھی اس ریوڑ کے پاس جائے اور کبھی اس ریوڑ کے پاس جائے اور اسے یہ معلوم نہ ہو کہ وہ اس ریوڑ میں شامل ہو یا اس ریوڑ میں۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: "Munafiq ki misaal us bakri ki si hai, jo do reydon ke darmiyan ho, kabhi us reyd ke paas jaye aur kabhi us reyd ke paas jaye aur use ye maloom na ho ki woh us reyd mein shamil ho ya us reyd mein."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ الشَّاةِ الْعَائِرَةِ بَيْنَ الْغَنَمَيْنِ، تَعِيرُ إِلَى هَذِهِ مَرَّةً، وَإِلَى هَذِهِ مَرَّةً، لَا تَدْرِي أَهَذِهِ تَتْبَعُ أَمْ هَذِهِ".
