Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5143
Kathir bin Jameen said that I saw Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, walking between Safa and Marwa at a normal pace, so I asked him, "Are you walking at a normal pace?" He said, "If I walk at a normal pace, then I have seen the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, walking like this, and if I walk fast, then I have seen the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, walking like this too."

کثیر بن جمہان کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کو صفا مروہ کے درمیان عام رفتار سے چلتے ہوئے دیکھا تو ان سے پوچھا کہ آپ عام رفتار سے چل رہے ہیں؟ فرمایا: اگر میں عام رفتار سے چلوں، تو میں نے نبی ﷺ کو بھی اس طرح چلتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے اور اگر تیزی سے چلوں تو میں نے نبی ﷺ کو اس طرح بھی دیکھا ہے۔
Kaseer bin Jahan kehte hain ki maine Syedna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ko Safa Marwah ke darmiyan aam raftar se chalte hue dekha to unse poocha ki aap aam raftar se chal rahe hain? Farmaya: Agar main aam raftar se chaloon, to maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko bhi is tarah chalte hue dekha hai aur agar tezi se chaloon to maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko is tarah bhi dekha hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ جُمْهَانَ ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ، فَقُلْتُ: تَمْشِي؟ فَقَالَ:" إِنْ أَمْشِ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْشِي، وَإِنْ أَسْعَ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْعَى".
