Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5163
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) said that when Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was in a hurry during a journey, he would combine Maghrib and Isha prayers after the redness of sunset had disappeared, and he would say that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also used to combine these two prayers when he was in a hurry.

نافع رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کو جب سفر میں جلدی ہوتی تو وہ غروب شفق کے بعد مغرب اور عشاء دونوں نمازوں کو اکٹھا کر لیتے اور فرماتے تھے کہ نبی ﷺ کو بھی جب جلدی ہوتی تھی تو وہ بھی ان دونوں نمازوں کو جمع کر لیتے تھے۔
Nafey rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke sayyidna Ibn Umar razi Allah anhuma ko jab safar mein jaldi hoti to wo ghuroob shafaq ke baad Maghrib aur Isha dono namaazon ko ikattha kar lete aur farmate the ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko bhi jab jaldi hoti thi to wo bhi in dono namaazon ko jama kar lete the.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، كَانَ" إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ بَعْدَمَا يَغِيبُ الشَّفَقُ، وَيَقُولُ: إِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَهُمَا".
