Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5319
Nafi', may Allah have mercy on him, said that Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, used to rent out his land during the caliphates of the first three caliphs and the early period of Amir Muawiyah's rule, may Allah be pleased with him. If I wanted, I could also mention the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. However, during the later part of Amir Muawiyah's rule, he came to know that Rafi' ibn Khadij, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates a prohibition from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding renting out land. So he came to him - I was also with him - and they asked Rafi' about it. He replied, "Yes! The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prohibited renting out land." Upon hearing this, Ibn Umar stopped doing it. And later on, whenever anyone asked him about it, he would say that Rafi' ibn Khadij believes that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade renting out land.

نافع رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما خلفاء ثلاثہ اور سیدنا امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ابتدائی دور خلاف میں اپنی زمین کرائے پر دیا کرتے تھے، اگر میں چاہوں تو نبی ﷺ کے دور باسعادت کا بھی ذکر کر سکتا ہوں، لیکن سیدنا امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے آخری دور میں انہیں پتہ چلا کہ سیدنا رافع بن خدیج رضی اللہ عنہ زمین کو کرائے پر دینے میں نبی ﷺ کی ممانعت روایت کرتے ہیں، تو وہ ان کے پاس آئے، میں بھی ان کے ساتھ تھا انہوں نے سیدنا رافع رضی اللہ عنہ سے اس کے متعلق پوچھا، تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ہاں! نبی ﷺ نے زمین کو کرائے پر دینے سے منع فرمایا ہے، یہ سن کر سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے یہ کام چھوڑ دیا اور بعد میں جب کوئی ان سے پوچھتا تو وہ فرما دیتے کہ رافع بن خدیج کا یہ خیال ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے زمین کو کرائے پر دینے سے منع فرمایا ہے۔
Nafi' Rahmat-ullahi 'Alayhi kahte hain ke Sayyiduna Ibn 'Umar Radi Allahu 'Anhuma Khulafa' Thalatha aur Sayyiduna Ameer Mu'awiya Radi Allahu 'Anhu ke ibtidai daur khilaf mein apni zameen kiraye par diya karte the, agar main chahun to Nabi Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam ke daur basaudat ka bhi zikr kar sakta hun, lekin Sayyiduna Ameer Mu'awiya Radi Allahu 'Anhu ke aakhri daur mein unhen pata chala ke Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij Radi Allahu 'Anhu zameen ko kiraye par dene mein Nabi Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam ki maman'at riwayat karte hain, to woh un ke paas aaye, main bhi un ke sath tha unhon ne Sayyiduna Rafi' Radi Allahu 'Anhu se iske mutalliq puchha, to unhon ne farmaya ke haan! Nabi Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam ne zameen ko kiraye par dene se mana' farmaaya hai, yeh sunkar Sayyiduna Ibn 'Umar Radi Allahu 'Anhuma ne yeh kaam chhor diya aur ba'ad mein jab koi un se puchhta to woh farma dete ke Rafi' bin Khadij ka yeh khayaal hai ke Nabi Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam ne zameen ko kiraye par dene se mana' farmaaya hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يُكْرِي أَرْضَهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ، وَبَعْضَ عَمَلِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: وَلَوْ شِئْتُ، قُلْتُ: عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ إِمَارَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، بَلَغَهُ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ حَدِيثٌ، فَذَهَبَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْهُ؟ فَقَالَ:" نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْمَزَارِعِ"، فَتَرَكَ أَنْ يُكْرِيَهَا، فَكَانَ إِذَا سُئِلَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ، يَقُولُ: زَعَمَ ابْنُ خَدِيجٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْمَزَارِعِ.
