Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5359
Ibn Ubaid, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Once, Ubaid bin 'Umair, may Allah be pleased with him, was sitting in a gathering where Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, was also present. My father said, "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'On the Day of Resurrection, the example of a hypocrite will be like that of a goat that is between two flocks. If it goes to one flock, they butt it with their horns and drive it away, and if it goes to the other flock, they butt it with their horns and drive it away.'" Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, said, "You have made a mistake." Then the people began to praise my father, so Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, said, "I consider your companion to be as you say, but I was also present in that gathering when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used the word 'ghanimain' (two flocks) on this occasion." Ubaid said, "They are both the same." Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, said, "I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say it in this way."

ابن عبید رحمہ اللہ علیہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ عبید بن عمیر رضی اللہ عنہ کسی مجلس میں بیٹھے تھے، سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما بھی وہاں تشریف فرما تھے، میرے والد صاحب کہنے لگے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”قیامت کے دن منافق کی مثال اس بکری کی سی ہو گی جو دو ریوڑوں کے درمیان ہو، اس ریوڑ کے پاس جائے تو وہاں کی بکریاں اسے سینگ مار مار کر بھگا دیں اور اس ریوڑ کے پاس جائے، تو وہاں کی بکریاں اسے سینگ مار مار کر بھگا دیں۔“ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہنے لگے کہ آپ کو غلطی لگی ہے، ادھر لوگ میرے والد صاحب کی تعریف کر نے لگے، تو سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا کہ میں بھی تمہارے ساتھی کو ویسا ہی سمجھتا ہوں جیسے تم لوگ کہہ رہے ہو لیکن میں بھی اس مجلس میں موجود تھا جب نبی ﷺ نے اس موقع پر «غنمين» کا لفظ استعمال کیا تھا، عبید نے فرمایا کہ یہ دونوں برابر ہیں، سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو اسی طرح فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے۔
Ibn Obaid Rahmatullah Alaih kehte hain ki aik martaba Obaid bin Umair (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kisi majlis mein baithe thay, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a bhi wahan tashreef farma thay, mere walid sahab kehne lage ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: ”Qayamat ke din munafiq ki misal us bakri ki si hogi jo do reydon ke darmiyan ho, us reydon ke pass jaye to wahan ki bakriyan use sing mar mar kar bhaga den aur us reydon ke pass jaye, to wahan ki bakriyan use sing mar mar kar bhaga den.“ Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehne lage ki aap ko ghalti lagi hai, udhar log mere walid sahab ki tareef karne lage, to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne farmaya ki mein bhi tumhare sathi ko waisa hi samajhta hun jaise tum log keh rahe ho lekin mein bhi is majlis mein maujood tha jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne is mauqe par «ghanameen» ka lafz istemaal kiya tha, Obaid ne farmaya ki yeh donon barabar hain, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne farmaya ki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko isi tarah farmate huye suna hai.
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْهُذَيْلُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ جَلَسَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ بِمَكَّةَ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ مَعَهُ، فَقَالَ أَبِي : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّ مَثَلَ الْمُنَافِقِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَالشَّاةِ بَيْنَ الرَّبِيضَيْنِ مِنَ الْغَنَمِ، إِنْ أَتَتْ هَؤُلَاءِ نَطَحْتَهَا وَإِنْ أَتَتْ هَؤُلَاءِ نَطَحْتَهَا"، فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : كَذَبْتَ، فَأَثْنَى الْقَوْمُ عَلَى أَبِي خَيْرًا، أَوْ مَعْرُوفًا، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: لَا أَظُنُّ صَاحِبَكُمْ إِلَّا كَمَا تَقُولُونَ، وَلَكِنِّي شَاهِدٌ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ قَالَ:" كَالشَّاةِ بَيْنَ الْغَنَمَيْنِ"، فَقَالَ: هُوَ سَوَاءٌ، فَقَالَ: هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُهُ.
