Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5407
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to wear a gold ring. One day the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) got up and threw it away, and said: "I will never wear this again." So the people also took off their rings.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ سونے کی انگوٹھی پہنتے تھے، ایک دن نبی ﷺ اٹھے اور اسے پھینک دیا اور فرمایا: ”آئندہ میں اسے کبھی نہیں پہنوں گا چنانچہ لوگوں نے بھی اپنی انگوٹھیاں اتار پھینکیں۔“
Sayyida Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sone ki anguthi pehente thay, ek din Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) uthe aur usay phenk diya aur farmaya: "Aenda main isay kabhi nahin pehnoon ga chunache logon ne bhi apni anguthian utar phenkin."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَلْبَسُ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَبَذَهُ، وَقَالَ:" لَا أَلْبَسُهُ أَبَدًا"، قَالَ: فَنَبَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ.
