Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5474
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever frees a share of a slave that he owns, then he will be obliged to free the rest of his shares, if he has enough wealth by which he can free him. If he does not have enough wealth to free him, then what he has already freed will stand."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”جو شخص کسی غلام کو اپنے حصے کے بقدر آزاد کر دیتا ہے تو اسے اس کا بقیہ حصے آزاد کر نے کا بھی مکلف بنایا جائے گا، اگر اس کے پاس اتنا مال نہ ہو جس سے اسے آزاد کیا جا سکے تو جتنا اس نے آزاد کیا ہے اتنا ہی رہے گا۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: ”Jo shakhs kisi gulam ko apne hisse ke baqadr azad kar deta hai to use uska baqiya hisse azad karne ka bhi mukallaf banaya jayega, agar uske pass itna maal na ho jis se use azad kiya ja sake to jitna usne azad kiya hai utna hi rahega.“.
وَأَخْبَرَنَا يَعْنِي يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، كَانَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَنْ أَعْتَقَ نَصِيبًا لَهُ فِي إِنْسَانٍ أَوْ مَمْلُوكٍ، كُلِّفَ عِتْقَ بَقِيَّتِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ يُعْتِقُهُ بِهِ، فَقَدْ جَازَ مَا عَتَقَ".
