Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5613
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to stay in Makkah al-Mukarramah during the days of Mina in order to serve the pilgrims by providing them with water. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ سیدنا عباس رضی اللہ عنہ نے حاجیوں کو پانی پلانے کی خدمت سر انجام دینے کے لئے نبی ﷺ سے منٰی کے ایام میں مکہ مکرمہ میں ہی رہنے کی اجازت چاہی تو نبی ﷺ نے انہیں اجازت دے دی۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Sayyidna Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne hajiyon ko pani pilane ki khidmat sar anjam dene ke liye Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se Mina ke ayyam mein Makkah Mukarramah mein hi rehne ki ijazat chahi to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen ijazat de di.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" أَذِنَ لِلْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، اسْتَأْذَنَ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبِيتَ بِمَكَّةَ لَيَالِيَ مِنًى مِنْ أَجْلِ سِقَايَتِهِ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ".
