Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6013
Kathir bin Jahan says that I saw Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, walking between Safa and Marwah at a normal pace, so I asked him, "Are you walking at a normal pace?" He said, "If I walk at a normal pace, I have seen the Prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, walking like this, and if I walk fast, I have seen the Prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, walking like this too, and I have become very old."

کثیربن جمہان کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کو صفا مروہ کے درمیان عام رفتار سے چلتے ہوئے دیکھا تو ان سے پوچھا کہ آپ عام رفتار سے چل رہے ہیں؟ فرمایا: اگر میں عام رفتار سے چلوں تو میں نے نبی ﷺ کو بھی اس طرح چلتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے اور اگر تیزی سے چلوں تو میں نے نبی ﷺ کو اس طرح بھی دیکھا ہے اور میں بہت بوڑھا ہوچکا ہوں۔
Kaseer bin Jahan kehte hain ki maine Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ko Safa Marwa ke darmiyaan aam raftar se chalte hue dekha to unse pucha ki aap aam raftar se chal rahe hain? Farmaya: Agar main aam raftar se chaloon to maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko bhi is tarah chalte hue dekha hai aur agar tezi se chaloon to maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko is tarah bhi dekha hai aur main bahut boodha hochuka hoon.
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ جُمْهَانَ ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَوْ قَالَ لَهُ غَيْرِي: مَا لِي أَرَاكَ تَمْشِي وَالنَّاسُ يَسْعَوْنَ؟ فَقَالَ:" إِنْ أَمْشِي , فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْشِي، وَإِنْ أَسْعَى فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْعَى"، وَأَنَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ.
