Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6323
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When you see the crescent moon, then fast, and when you see it (again), break your fast. And if the sky is cloudy for you, then estimate."
Grade: Sahih
سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”جب تم چاند دیکھ لو تب روزہ رکھو اور چاند دیکھ کر ہی افطار کرو اور اگر بادل چھائے ہوئے ہوں تو اندازہ کر لو۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: "Jab tum chand dekh lo tab roza rakho aur chand dekh kar hi iftar karo aur agar badal chhaye hue hon to andaza kar lo."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ الْهِلَالَ فَصُومُوا، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْدُرُوا لَهُ".
