Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6421
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Maghrib prayer is the Witr of the day, so you should also offer the Witr of the night. And the night prayer consists of two rak'ahs, and the Witr is one rak'ah at the end of the night.”

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”مغرب کی نماز دن کا وتر ہیں سو تم رات کا وتر بھی ادا کیا کرو اور رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت ہوتی ہے اور وتر رات کے آخری حصے میں ایک رکعت ہوتے ہیں۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: Maghrib ki namaz din ka witr hain so tum raat ka witr bhi ada kiya karo aur raat ki namaz do do rakat hoti hai aur witr raat ke aakhri hisse mein ek rakat hote hain.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:" صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ وِتْرُ صَلَاةِ النَّهَارِ، فَأَوْتِرُوا صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ، وَصَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، وَالْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ".
