Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6763
It is narrated by Sayyidina Ibn 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a solar eclipse occurred. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up for prayer, so we also stood with him. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood for a very long time, then performed a very long bowing (ruku'), then raised his head from bowing and stood for a long time. Then, during prostration (sajdah), he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would put his forehead on the ground and say, "O Allah, didn't You promise me that You would not punish them while I am present among them? O Allah, will You punish them despite our seeking forgiveness?" After this, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) completed his prayer and said, "Paradise was presented before me and brought so close to me that if I had wished to take hold of one of its branches, I could have. Similarly, Hell was also presented before me and brought so close that I felt its heat, fearing that it might befall you. And I saw in Hell the man who had stolen the two she-camels of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I also saw a woman from the tribe of Banu Hamir who was dark-complexioned and tall. She was being punished because of her cat, which she had tied up, neither providing it with sustenance nor letting it loose to eat from the vermin of the earth. Whenever the fire intensified, the cat would bite her, and if she moved back, it would bite her from behind. I also saw there a man from Banu Dad'a, and I saw the man with the staff, leaning on his staff in Hell. This person used to steal the belongings of the pilgrims with his staff, and when the pilgrims would realize, he would say, 'I only stole a little. This thing must have gotten stuck to my staff.' The sun and the moon are not eclipsed because of the death or life of anyone. These are two of the signs of Allah. If you see an eclipse in either of them, then hasten to the mosques."

سیدنا ابن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے دور باسعادت میں سورج گرہن ہوا نبی کریم ﷺ نماز کے لئے کھڑے ہوئے تو ہم بھی ان کے ساتھ کھڑے ہو گئے نبی کریم ﷺ نے اتناطویل قیام کیا پھر طویل رکوع کیا پھر رکوع سے سر اٹھایا تو دیر تک کھڑے رہے۔ پھر سجدے میں آپ ﷺ زمین پر پھونکتے جاتے تھے اور یہ کہتے جاتے تھے کہ پروردگار تو نے مجھ سے وعدہ نہیں کیا تھا کہ میری موجودگی میں انہیں عذاب نہیں دے گا؟ پروردگار ہماری طلب بخشش کے باوجود تو ہمیں عذاب دے گا؟ اس کے بعد آپ ﷺ نے اپنی نماز مکمل فرمائی اور فرمایا: ”میرے سامنے جنت کو پیش کیا گیا اور اسے میرے اتنا قریب کر دیا گیا کہ اگر میں اس کی کسی ٹہنی کو پکڑنا چاہتا تو پکڑ لیتا اسی طرح جہنم کو بھی میرے سامنے پیش کیا گیا اور اسے میرے اتنا قریب کر دیا گیا کہ میں اسے بجھانے لگا اس خوف سے کہ کہیں وہ تم پر نہ آپڑے اور میں نے جہنم میں اس آدمی کو بھی دیکھا جس نے نبی کریم ﷺ کی دو اونٹنیاں چرائی تھیں نیز قبیلہ حمیر کی ایک عورت کو دیکھاجو سیاہ رنگت اور لمبے قد کی تھی اسے اس کی ایک بلی کی وجہ سے عذاب دیا جارہا تھا جسے اس نے باندھ رکھا تھا نہ خودا سے کھلایاپلایا اور نہ اسے چھوڑا کہ وہ خود ہی زمین کے کیڑے مکوڑے کھا لیتی وہ عورت جب بھی آگے بڑھتی تو جہنم میں وہی بلی اسے ڈستی اور اگر پیچھے ہٹتی تو اسے پیچھے سے ڈستی نیز میں نے وہاں بنو دعدع کے ایک آدمی کو بھی دیکھا اور میں نے لاٹھی والے کو بھی دیکھا جو جہنم میں اپنی لاٹھی سے ٹیک لگائے ہوئے تھا یہ شخص اپنی لاٹھی کے ذریعے حاجیوں کی چیزیں چرایا کرتا تھا اور جب حاجیوں کو پتہ چلتا تو کہہ دیتا کہ میں نے اسے چرایا تھوڑی ہے یہ چیز تو میری لاٹھی کے ساتھ چپک کر آگئی تھی۔ اور شمس و قمر کو کسی کی موت وحیات سے گہن نہیں لگتا یہ تو اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے دو نشانیاں ہیں اگر ان میں سے کسی ایک کو گہن لگ جائے تو مسجدوں کی طرف دوڑا کرو۔
Sayyidna Ibn Amro (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke daur ba saadat mein Suraj Grahan hua Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz ke liye kharay huye to hum bhi unke sath kharay ho gaye Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne itna tawil qayam kya phir tawil ruku kya phir ruku se sar uthaya to der tak kharay rahe phir Sajde mein Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) zameen par phoonktay jatay thay aur yeh kehtay jatay thay ki Parvardigaar tune mujhse waada nahi kiya tha ki meri mojoodgi mein unhen azab nahi dega Parvardigaar hamari talab bakhshish ke bawajood to hamein azab dega Iss ke baad Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apni namaz mukammal farmaee aur farmaya mere samne Jannat ko pesh kiya gaya aur issay mere itna qareeb kar diya gaya ki agar mein iss ki kisi tahni ko pakadna chahta to pakad leta isi tarah Jahannum ko bhi mere samne pesh kiya gaya aur issay mere itna qareeb kar diya gaya ki mein issay bujhane laga iss khauf se ki kahin woh tum par na aa pade aur mein ne jahannam mein iss aadmi ko bhi dekha jiss ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki do untniyan churaee thin neez qabeela Hameer ki ek aurat ko dekha jo siyah rangat aur lambay qad ki thi ussay iss ki ek billi ki wajah se azab diya ja raha tha jissay iss ne bandh rakha tha na Khuda se khilaya pilaya aur na issay chhora ki woh khud hi zameen ke keeday makoday kha leti woh aurat jab bhi aagey badhti to Jahannum mein wohi billi ussay dasti aur agar peechay hat ti to ussay peechay se dasti neez mein ne wahan Banu Dadah ke ek aadmi ko bhi dekha aur mein ne lathi walay ko bhi dekha jo jahannam mein apni lathi se tek lagaye huye tha yeh shakhs apni lathi ke zariye hajiyon ki cheezein churaaya karta tha aur jab hajiyon ko pata chalta to keh deta tha ki mein ne issay churaya thori hai yeh cheez to meri lathi ke sath chipak kar aa gayee thi aur shams o qamar kisi ki mout o hayaat se grahan nahi lagta yeh to Allah ki nishaniyon mein se do nishaniyan hain agar in mein se kisi ek ko grahan lag jaye to masjidon ki taraf dauda karo.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ: كَسَفَتْ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَطَالَ الْقِيَامَ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ، فَأَطَالَ الرُّكُوعَ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ فَأَطَالَ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ: فِي السُّجُودِ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ، وَجَعَلَ يَبْكِي فِي سُجُودِهِ وَيَنْفُخُ، وَيَقُولُ:" رَبِّ لَمْ تَعِدْنِي هَذَا وَأَنَا أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ، رَبِّ، لَمْ تَعِدْنِي هَذَا وَأَنَا فِيهِمْ"، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى قَالَ:" عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ الْجَنَّةُ، حَتَّى لَوْ مَدَدْتُ يَدِي لَتَنَاوَلْتُ مِنْ قُطُوفِهَا، وَعُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ النَّارُ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَنْفُخُ خَشْيَةَ أَنْ يَغْشَاكُمْ حَرُّهَا، وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا سَارِقَ بَدَنَتَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا أَخَا بَنِي دَعْدَعٍ، سَارِقَ الْحَجِيجِ، فَإِذَا فُطِنَ لَهُ قَالَ: هَذَا عَمَلُ الْمِحْجَنِ، وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا امْرَأَةً طَوِيلَةً سَوْدَاءَ حِمْيَرِيَّةً، تُعَذَّبُ فِي هِرَّةٍ رَبَطَتْهَا، فَلَمْ تُطْعِمْهَا وَلَمْ تَسْقِهَا، وَلَمْ تَدَعْهَا تَأْكُلُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ، حَتَّى مَاتَتْ، وَإِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ، وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ، فَإِذَا انْكَسَفَ أَحَدُهُمَا، أَوْ قَالَ فُعِلَ بِأَحَدِهِمَا شَيْءٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، فَاسْعَوْا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ". قَاَل عبد الله: قَالَ أَبِي: قَالَ ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ: لِمَ تُعَذِّبُهُمْ وَأَنَا فِيهِمْ؟ لِمَ تُعَذِّبُنَا وَنَحْنُ نَسْتَغْفِرُكَ؟".
