Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 7348
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The best charity is that which is given from what is sufficient for one's needs. The upper hand is better than the lower hand (i.e., the hand that gives is better than the hand that receives). And begin your charity with those for whom you are responsible."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: سب سے افضل صدقہ تو دل کے غناء کے ساتھ ہوتا ہے اوپر والا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہوتا ہے اور تم صدقات و خیرات میں ان لوگوں سے ابتدا کرو جو تمہاری ذمہ داری میں آتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah RA se marvi hai ke Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya: Sab se afzal sadqah to dil ke gana ke sath hota hai upar wala hath neeche wale hath se behtar hota hai aur tum sadqat o khairat mein in logon se ibtida karo jo tumhari zimmedari mein aate hain.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ :" أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَةِ مَا كَانَ يَعْنِي عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ".
