Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 7567
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Do not initiate the Salam with them (i.e., Jews and Christians) when you meet them on the road, and force them to take the narrowest part of it.” Zuhair, the narrator of this Hadith, said: I asked Suhail (one of the narrators in the chain of narration) “Are the Jews and Christians meant by this?” He said: All polytheists.

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا جب تم ان لوگوں سے راستے میں ملو تو سلام کرنے میں پہل نہ کرو اور انہیں تنگ راستے کی طرف مجبور کردو راوی حدیث زہیر کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے اپنے استاد سہیل سے پوچھا کہ اس سے مراد یہود و نصاریٰ ہیں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا تمام مشرکین مراد ہیں۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jab tum in logon se raste mein milo to salam karne mein pehl na karo aur inhen tang raste ki taraf majboor kardo Ravi Hadees Zaheer kehte hain ki maine apne ustaad Sohail se poocha ki is se murad Yahood o Nasara hain? Unhon ne farmaya tamam mushrikeen murad hain.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فِي طَرِيقٍ، فَلا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بالسَّلام، وَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا" . قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ: فَقُلْتُ لِسُهَيْلٍ: الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى؟ فَقَالَ: الْمُشْرِكُونَ.
