Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 7624
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the worst food is that of the walima (wedding feast) to which the rich are invited and the poor are left out, even though they are more deserving. And whoever refuses an invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ کہ بد ترین کھانا اس ولیمے کا کھانا ہوتا ہے جس میں مالداروں کو بلایا جائے اور غریبوں کو چھوڑ دیا جائے حالانکہ وہ برحق ہے اور جو شخص دعوت ملنے کے باوجود نہ آئے تو اس نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول ﷺ کی نافرمانی کی۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu se marvi hai keh keh bad tareen khana us walima ka khana hota hai jis mein maldaron ko bulaya jaye aur gharibon ko chhor diya jaye halanki woh bar haq hai aur jo shakhs dawat milne ke bawajood na aaye to us ne Allah aur us ke Rasul (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki nafarmani ki.
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبَ ، وَالْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: " شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامُ الْوَلِيمَةِ، يُدْعَى الْغَنِيُّ، وَيُتْرَكُ الْمِسْكِينُ، وَهِيَ حَقُّ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَهَا، فَقَدْ عَصَى" . وَكَانَ مَعْمَرٌ رُبَّمَا قَالَ:" وَمَنْ لَمْ يُجِبْ الدَّعْوَةَ، فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ".
