The Musnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)
مسنَد اَبِی هرَیرَةَ رَضِیَ اللَّه عَنه
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8144
And the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Leave me be as long as I leave you be. Those who came before you were only destroyed because of their excessive questioning and their disagreeing with their Prophets. So do not ask me about that which I have not told you. And when I command you with something, then act upon it according to your ability.”

اور نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا جب تک کسی مسئلے کو بیان کرنے میں تمہیں چھوڑے رکھوں اس وقت تک تم بھی مجھے چھوڑے رکھو اس لئے کہ تم سے پہلی امتیں بکثرت سوال کرنے اور اپنے انبیاء سے اختلاف کرنے کی وجہ سے ہی ہلاک ہوئی تھیں میں تمہیں جس چیز سے روکوں اس سے رک جاؤ اور جس چیز کا حکم دوں اسے اپنی طاقت کے مطابق پورا کرو۔
Aur Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jab tak kisi masle ko bayan karne mein tumhein chhore rakhon us waqt tak tum bhi mujhe chhore rakho is liye keh tum se pehli ummaten bakasrat sawal karne aur apne anbiya se ikhtilaf karne ki waja se hi halak hui thin mein tumhein jis cheez se rokon us se ruk jao aur jis cheez ka hukum dun usay apni taqat ke mutabiq poora karo.
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ، فَإِنَّمَا أُهْلِكَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ بِسُؤَالِهِمْ وَاخْتِلَافِهِمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ، فَإِذَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ شَيْءٍ، فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ، وَإِذَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِأَمْرٍ، فَأْتَمِرُوا مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ" .
