Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8346
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that two men sneezed in a gathering of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). One of them was more respected than the other, but he did not say "Alhamdulillah" after sneezing. So the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not respond to him. The other one said "Alhamdulillah," so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) responded to him. The man said, "I sneezed, but you did not respond to me, and he sneezed, and you responded to him." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "He remembered Allah, so I also remembered him, and you forgot Him, so I also forgot you."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کی ایک مجلس میں دو آدمیوں کو چھینک آئی ان میں سے ایک دوسرے کی نسبت زیادہ معزز تھا لیکن اس نے چھینکے کے بعد الحمد اللہ نہیں کہا لہٰذا نبی کریم ﷺ نے اسے جواب نہیں دیا اور دوسرے نے الحمد اللہ کہا لہذا نبی کریم ﷺ نے اسے جواب دے دیا وہ آدمی کہنے لگا کہ مجھے چھینک آئی تو آپ نے جواب نہیں دیا اور اسے چھینک آئی تو أپ نے اسے جواب دے دیا؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس نے اللہ کو یاد کیا تھا چنانچہ میں نے بھی اسے یاد رکھا اور تم نے اسے بھلا دیا لہذا میں نے بھی تمہیں بھلا دیا۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki aik majlis mein do admiyon ko chheenk aai in mein se aik dusre ki nisbat ziada moazziz tha lekin usne chheenk ke baad Alhamdulillah nahin kaha lihaza Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use jawab nahin diya aur dusre ne Alhamdulillah kaha lihaza Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use jawab de diya woh aadmi kehne laga ki mujhe chheenk aai to aap ne jawab nahin diya aur use chheenk aai to aap ne use jawab de diya? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya usne Allah ko yaad kiya tha chunancha main ne bhi use yaad rakha aur tum ne use bhula diya lihaza main ne bhi tumhen bhula diya.
حَدَّثَنَا رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: عَطَسَ رَجُلَانِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَحَدُهُمَا أَشْرَفُ مِنَ الْآخَرِ، فَعَطَسَ الشَّرِيفُ فَلَمْ يَحْمَدْ اللَّهَ، فَلَمْ يُشَمِّتْهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَعَطَسَ الْآخَرُ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ، فَشَمَّتَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ: فَقَالَ الشَّرِيفُ عَطَسْتُ عِنْدَكَ فَلَمْ تُشَمِّتْنِي، وَعَطَسَ هَذَا عِنْدَكَ فَشَمَّتَّهُ! فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ هَذَا ذَكَرَ اللَّهَ فَذَكَرْتُهُ، وَإِنَّكَ نَسِيتَ اللَّهَ فَنَسِيتُكَ" .
