Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8429
Abu Khalid (may Allah have mercy on him) said that once I asked Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to lead you in prayer in the same way (as you lead us)?" Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "What seems strange and different to you in my prayer?" I said, "This is what I wanted to ask you about." He said, "Yes, even shorter than that." The narrator said that Abu Hurairah's (may Allah be pleased with him) standing (in prayer) would only last as long as it took the mu'azzin (prayer caller) to descend from the minaret and reach the row (of worshippers).

ابوخالد رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ کیا نبی کریم ﷺ بھی اسی طرح آپ کو نماز پڑھایا کرتے تھے؟ (جیسے آپ ہمیں پڑھاتے ہیں) حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا تمہیں میری نماز میں کیا چیز اوپری اور اجنبی محسوس ہوتی ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ میں اسی کے متعلق آپ سے پوچھنا چاہ رہا تھا فرمایا ہاں بلکہ اس سے بھی مختصر راوی کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کا قیام صرف اتنا ہوتا تھا کہ مؤذن مینار سے نیچے اتر کر صف تک پہنچ جائے۔
Abu Khalid rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke aik martaba maine Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu se poocha ke kya Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bhi isi tarah aap ko namaz parhaya karte thay? (jaise aap hamen parhate hain) Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu ne farmaya tumhen meri namaz mein kya cheez oopri aur ajnabi mehsoos hoti hai? Maine arz kiya ke mein isi ke mutalliq aap se poochna chah raha tha farmaya haan balke is se bhi mukhtasar ravi kehte hain ke Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu ka qayam sirf itna hota tha ke muazzin menar se neeche utar kar saf tak pahunch jaye.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَة : أَهَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِكُمْ؟ قَالَ:" وَمَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنْ صَلَاتِي؟" قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ. قَالَ: نَعَمْ، وَأَوْجَزُ. قَالَ: " وَكَانَ قِيَامُهُ قَدْرَ مَا يَنْزِلُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ مِنَ الْمَنَارَةِ وَيَصِلُ إِلَى الصَّفِّ" .
