Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8541
Abu Habibah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: He entered the house of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) during the days when Uthman was besieged. There, Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) was requesting permission to speak to Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) gave him permission. So, he stood up and after praising and glorifying Allah, he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: You will face trials and tribulations after me. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah, who will be responsible for us? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Cling firmly to the obedience of your leader and his companions. Saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pointed towards Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him).

ابوحبیبہ رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ وہ حضرت عثمان غنی رضی اللہ عنہ کے گھر میں داخل ہوئے ان دنوں حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ محصور تھے وہاں حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ سے گفتگو کرنے کی اجازت طلب کر رہے تھے حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں اجازت دے دی چنانچہ وہ کھڑے ہوئے اور اللہ کی حمدوثناء بیان کرنے کے بعد فرمایا: کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ تم میرے بعد فتنوں اور اختلافات کا سامنا کروگے کسی نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ ہمارا کون ذمہ دار ہوگا؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: تم اپنے امیر اور اس کے ساتھیوں کی ہمراہی کو لازم پکڑنا یہ کہہ کر نبی ﷺ نے حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کی طرف اشارہ فرمایا:۔
Abuhabiba rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ki woh Hazrat Usman Ghani razi Allah tala anhu ke ghar mein dakhil huye un dino Hazrat Usman razi Allah tala anhu mahsoor the wahan Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah tala anhu Hazrat Usman razi Allah tala anhu se guftgu karne ki ijazat talab kar rahe the Hazrat Usman razi Allah tala anhu ne unhen ijazat de di chunancha woh kharay huye aur Allah ki hamd o sana bayan karne ke baad farmaya: ki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai ki tum mere baad fitnon aur ikhtilafath ka samna karoge kisi ne poocha ya Rasul Allah hamara kaun zimmedar hoga? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: tum apne ameer aur uske saathiyon ki hamrahi ko lazim pakadna ye keh kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Hazrat Usman razi Allah tala anhu ki taraf ishara farmaya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي أَبُو أُمِّي أَبُو حَبِيبَةَ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ الدَّارَ وَعُثْمَانُ مَحْصُورٌ فِيهَا، وَأَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَسْتَأْذِنُ عُثْمَانَ فِي الْكَلَامِ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ، فَقَامَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ، وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَال: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ: " إِنَّكُمْ تَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي فِتْنَةً وَاخْتِلَافًا"، أَوْ قَالَ" اخْتِلَافًا وَفِتْنَةً"، فَقَالَ لَهُ قَائِلٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ: فَمَنْ لَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ:" عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْأَمِينِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ" وَهُوَ يُشِيرُ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بِذَلِكَ .
