Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8546
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Save yourselves from fasting continuously for several days with one suhoor (pre-dawn meal). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said this twice. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: But O Messenger of Allah, you fast continuously? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: I am not like you in this matter. I spend the night and my Lord feeds me and gives me drink. So do not burden yourselves with something that you cannot bear.

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ایک ہی سحری سے مسلسل کئی روزے رکھنے سے اپنے آپ کو بچاؤ یہ بات نبی ﷺ نے دو مرتبہ فرمائی صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ آپ تو اس طرح تسلسل کے ساتھ روزے رکھتے ہیں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: اس معاملے میں میں تمہاری طرح نہیں ہوں میں تو اس حال میں رات گذارتا ہوں کہ میرا رب خود ہی مجھے کھلا پلا دیتا ہے اس لئے تم اپنی جانوں کو ایسے عمل میں مت تکلیف دو جس کی برداشت کی تم میں طاقت نہ ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira Razi Allah Anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Ek hi sehri se musalsal kai rozey rakhne se apne aap ko bachao yeh baat Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne do martaba farmai Sahaba kiram Razi Allah Anhu ne arz kiya Ya Rasulullah aap to is tarah tasalsul ke sath rozey rakhte hain? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Is mamle mein main tumhari tarah nahin hun main to is haal mein raat guzarta hun ki mera Rab khud hi mujhe khila pila deta hai is liye tum apni jaanon ko aise amal mein mat takleef do jis ki bardasht ki tum mein taqat na ho.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ: " إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ" مَرَّتَيْنِ، قَالُوا: فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! قَالَ:" إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلَكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي، فَلَا تُكَلِّفُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ" .
