Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 8653
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), our food consisted only of two black things: dates and water. By Allah, we had neither seen your kind of wheat nor had any knowledge of it. And during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), our clothing used to be the coarse cloaks of villagers.

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کے دور باسعادت میں ہمارا کھانا صرف دو کالی چیزیں کھجور اور پانی ہوتے تھے واللہ ہم نے تمہارے یہ گیہوں کبھی دیکھے تھے اور نہ ہمیں اس کا پتہ تھا اور نبی ﷺ کے دور باسعادت میں ہمارا لباس دیہاتیوں کی چادریں ہوا کرتی تھیں۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke daur e basadat mein hamara khana sirf do kali cheezain khajoor aur pani hote thay Wallah hum ne tumhare ye gehun kabhi dekhe thay aur na humein is ka pata tha aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke daur e basadat mein hamara libas dehatiyon ki chadariyan hua karti thin.
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: " إِنَّمَا كَانَ طَعَامَنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَسْوَدَانِ التَّمْرُ، وَالْمَاءُ، وَاللَّهِ مَا كُنَّا نَرَى سَمْرَاءَكُمْ هَذِهِ، وَلَا نَدْرِي مَا هِيَ، وَإِنَّمَا كَانَ لِبَاسُنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النِّمَارَ، يَعْنِي بُرْدَ الْأَعْرَابِ" .
