Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 9010
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), mistakenly offered two rak'ahs of Zuhr prayer and said the Salam. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "Has there been a reduction in the prayer?". Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up, offered two more rak'ahs, said the Salam and then performed two prostrations of forgetfulness.

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے بھولے سے ظہر کی دو رکعتیں پڑھا کر سلام پھیر دیا صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا کیا نماز میں کمی ہوگئی ہے؟ اس پر نبی کریم ﷺ کھڑے ہوئے دو رکعتیں مزید ملائیں اور سلام پھیر کر سہو کے دو سجدے کر لئے۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne bhool se Zuhar ki do rakatain parha kar salaam pher diya Sahaba kiram (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne arz kiya kya namaz mein kami hogayi hai? Iss par Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kharay huay do rakatain mazeed milayen aur salaam pher kar suhu ke do sajde kar liye.
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ"، قَالُوا: قَصُرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ؟ قَالَ:" فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ" .
