Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 9249
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that two consecutive months would pass over the family of the chosen one (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) during which they would not light a fire in their homes, neither for bread nor for cooking. People asked him, "O Abu Hurairah! Then what did they survive on?" He said, "On two black things: dates and water, and some Ansar (may Allah reward them with goodness) were their neighbors, they had some goats, so they would send them a little milk."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ آل مصطفیٰ ﷺ پر دو دو مہینے ایسے گذر جاتے تھے کہ ان کے گھروں میں آگ تک نہیں جلتی تھی نہ روٹی کے لئے اور نہ کھانا پکانے کے لئے، لوگوں نے ان سے پوچھا اے ابوہریرہ! پھر وہ کس چیز کے سہارے زندگی گذارا کرتے تھے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا دو کالی چیزوں یعنی کھجور اور پانی پر اور کچھ انصاری اللہ انہیں جزائے خیر عطاء فرمائے ان کے پڑوسی تھے ان کے پاس کچھ بکریاں تھیں جن کا وہ تھوڑا سا دودھ بھجوا دیا کرتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفٌ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قال: " كَانَ يَمُرُّ بِآلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هِلَالٌ، ثُمَّ هِلَالٌ، لَا يُوقَدُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِهِمْ النَّارُ، لَا لِخُبْزٍ، وَلَا لِطَبِيخٍ، فَقَالُوا: بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانُوا يَعِيشُونَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ؟، قَالَ: الأسودانِ: التَّمْرِ وَالْمَاءِ، وَكَانَ لَهُمْ جِيرَانٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَجَزَاهُمْ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا، لَهُمْ مَنَائِحُ، يُرْسِلُونَ إِلَيْهِمْ شَيْئًا مِنْ لَبَنٍ" .
