Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 9919
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said regarding the People of the Book: When you meet them on the road, do not initiate the greeting of peace with them, and force them to take the narrower path.

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے اہل کتاب کے متعلق فرمایا جب تم ان لوگوں سے راستے میں ملو تو سلام کرنے میں پہل نہ کرو اور انہیں تنگ راستے کی طرف مجبور کردو۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ahl e kitab ke mutalliq farmaya jab tum in logon se raste mein milo to salam karne mein pehl na karo aur inhen tang raste ki taraf majboor kardo.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قََالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ: " لاَ تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلاَمِ، وَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فِي طَرِيقٍ، فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا" .
