Chapter on Those Who Pray Witr with Three Connected Rak'ahs with Two Tashahhuds and One Salutation

(4812) 'Abdur-Rahman bin Yazid said that Abdullah said: "Witr is three (rak'ahs), just as the Witr of the day is Maghrib." This is the statement of Abdullah bin Mas'ud, not the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

(٤٨١٢) عبدالرحمن بن یزید کہتے ہیں کہ عبداللہ فرماتے ہیں : وتر تین ہیں جیسے دن کا وتر مغرب ہے، یہ عبداللہ بن مسعود کا قول ہے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا فرمان نہیں ہے۔
4812 Abdurrahman bin Yazid kehte hain ki Abdullah farmate hain: Witr teen hain jaise din ka witr Maghrib hai, yeh Abdullah bin Masood ka qaul hai Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka farman nahi hai.
A'mash (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from some of the Companions that Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Witr is seven or five, not less than three."

(٤٨١٣) اعمش (رح) بعض صحابہ سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) نے فرمایا : وتر سات یا پانچ ہیں تین سے کم نہیں ہیں۔
(4813) Aamash (rah) baaz sahaba se naql farmate hain ki Abdullah bin Masood (raz) ne farmaya : Witr saat ya paanch hain teen se kam nahin hain.
(4814) Sa'd bin Hisham narrates from Sayyidah Aisha (RA) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not offer salam in the two rak'ahs of Witr.
(b) It is narrated from Aban Qatadah that he (the Prophet) used to pray three rak'ahs of Witr and sit in the last rak'ah.

(٤٨١٤) سعد بن ہشام سیدہ عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) وتر کی دو رکعات میں سلام نہیں پھیرتے تھے۔
(ب) ابان قتادہ سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ وہ تین وتر پڑھتے اور آخری رکعت میں بیٹھتے تھے۔
(4814) Saad bin Hisham Sayyidah Ayesha (Raz) se naql farmate hain ke Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) witr ki do rakat mein salaam nahi pherte thay. (b) Aban Qatadah se bayan karte hain ke woh teen witr parhte aur akhri rakat mein baithtay thay.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Do not pray Witr with three rak'ahs, for you would then make it resemble the Maghrib prayer. Pray Witr with seven or five (rak'ahs)."

(٤٨١٥) ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم تین وتر نہ پڑھو تم اس کو مغرب کی نماز کے مشابہہ کر دو گے وتر سات یا پانچ پڑھو۔
(4815) Abu Hurairah (RA) farmate hain ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Tum teen witr na parho tum us ko Maghrib ki namaz ke mushabahah kar do ge witr saat ya paanch parho.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not pray three rak'ahs for Witr and do not make it resemble Maghrib. Rather, pray Witr with five, seven, nine, eleven or more rak'ahs."

(٤٨١٦) ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم تین وتر نہ پڑھو اور اس کو مغرب کے مشابہہ نہ کرو بلکہ تم پانچ، سات، نو، گیارہ یا اس سے زیادہ رکعات وتر پڑھا کرو۔
(4816) Abu Hurairah (RA) farmate hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya : tum teen witr na parho aur is ko maghrib ke mushabahah na karo balkeh tum panch, saat, nau, gyarah ya is se ziyada rak'aat witr parhha karo.
