Chapter on the Sunnah of Lightening the Two Rak'ahs of Fajr
باب السنة في تخفيف ركعتي الفجر
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4881
'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray two light rak'ahs before Fajr. I said: Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recite Surah Fatihah or not?"

(٤٨٨١) عمرۃ حضرت عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فجر سے پہلے دو ہلکی رکعات پڑھتے تھے ۔ میں کہتی : کیا نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سورة فاتحہ بھی پڑھی ہے کہ نہیں۔

(4882) Sayyida Aisha (RA) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would shorten the two rak'ahs (units of prayer) of Fajr.
(b) Saeed bin Jubair narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would sometimes also lengthen the two rak'ahs of Fajr.

(٤٨٨٢) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) فرماتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فجر کی دور رکعات میں تخفیف فرماتے۔
(ب) سعید بن جبیر فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کبھی فجر کی دو رکعات کو لمبا بھی کرتے تھے۔

(b) Saeed bin Jubair farmate hain keh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) kabhi Fajr ki do rakat ko lamba bhi karte the.
Hisham ibn Urwah reported from his father that Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to shorten the two rak'ahs of Fajr prayer.”

(٤٨٨٣) ہشام بن عروہ اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ عائشہ (رض) نے فرمایا : رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فجر کی دو رکعات میں تخفیف فرماتے تھے۔
Hisham bin Urwah apne walid se naql farmate hain ke Ayesha (Razi Allah Anha) ne farmaya: Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Fajar ki 2 rakat mein takhfeef farmate thay.
