Chapter on Sitting on the Left Foot Between Prostrations

باب القعود على الرجل اليسرى بين السجدتين

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 2730

Muhammad bin 'Amr bin 'Ata said: I heard Abu Humaid As-Sa'idi (May Allah be pleased with him) saying amongst a gathering of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), including Abu Qatadah (May Allah be pleased with him). Then he mentioned a complete narration about the way the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed Salat in which he (Abu Humaid) also said: When he (the Prophet) bowed, he would keep his hands away from his flanks, and when he raised his head, he would sit up straight and put his left foot upright and then sit on it.

(٢٧٣٠) محمد بن عمرو بن عطا فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابوحمید ساعدی (رض) کو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے صحابہ کے ایک گروہ میں جس میں ابو قتادہ (رض) بھی تھے فرماتے ہوئے سنا۔۔۔ پھر انھوں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی نماز کے طریقے کے بارے میں مکمل حدیث ذکر کی۔ اس میں یہ بھی ہے کہ وہ زمین کی طرف جھکتے تو اپنے ہاتھوں (بازوؤں) کو پہلوؤں سے دور رکھتے، پھر اپنے سر کو اٹھاتے تو اپنی بائیں ٹانگ کو موڑ کر اس پر بیٹھ جائے۔

2730 Muhammad bin Amro bin Ata farmate hain ki maine Abu Humaid Saeedi (RA) ko Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke Sahaba ke aik gorah mein jis mein Abu Qatada (RA) bhi thay farmate huye suna phir unhon ne Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki namaz ke tareeqay ke baare mein mukammal hadees zikar ki is mein yeh bhi hai ki woh zameen ki taraf jhukte to apne hathon (baazuon) ko پہلووں se door rakhte phir apne sar ko uthate to apni baen taang ko mor kar is par baith jatay

٢٧٣٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْقَزَّازُ، ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ،حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ،فِي عَشَرَةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِمْ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ فَذَكَرَ ⦗١٧١⦘ الْحَدِيثَ فِي صِفَةِ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِيهِ:" ثُمَّ يَهْوِي سَاجِدًا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ فَيُجَافِي يَدَيْهِ عَنْ جَنْبَيْهِ، ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ فَيَثْنِي رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى فَيَقْعُدُ عَلَيْهَا "

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 2731

(2731) It is narrated from 'Abbas bin Sahl bin Sa'd Sa'di that he was in the gathering in which his father, who was a companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), was also present. In that gathering, Abu Hurairah, Abu Sa'eed, and Abu Humaid Sa'idi Ansari (may Allah be pleased with them) were also present. When they mentioned the prayer, Abu Humaid (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I am the most knowledgeable among you about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." Then he narrated the entire Hadith. In it, it is also mentioned that he (the Prophet) said "Allahu Akbar" and prostrated, and he kept his hands, knees, and feet straight in prostration. Then he said "Allahu Akbar" and sat up, placing one leg flat on the ground and keeping the other foot upright. Then he said "Allahu Akbar" and prostrated. (b) There is also a narration from 'Isa bin 'Abdullah, who heard from 'Abbas bin Sahl that he saw Abu Humaid, Abu Sa'eed, and other people praying in this manner.

(٢٧٣١) عباس بن سہل بن سعد ساعدی سے روایت ہے کہ وہ اس مجلس میں تھے جس میں ان کے والد بھی تھے جو صحابی رسول ہیں۔ اس مجلس میں ابوہریرہ، ابواسید اور ابوحمید ساعدی انصاری (رض) بھی تھے۔ انھوں نے نماز کا تذکرہ کیا تو ابوحمید (رض) کہنے لگے کہ میں تم سب سے زیادہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی نماز کے بارے میں جانتا ہوں۔ پھر مکمل حدیث ذکر کی۔ اس میں یہ بھی ہے کہ انھوں نے اللہ اکبر کہہ کر سجدہ کیا اور اپنے ہاتھوں، گھٹنوں اور قدموں کی سیدھی طرف کھڑا کیا اور سجدہ کیا ۔ پھر تکبیر کہہ کر بیٹھ گئے اور ایک ٹانگ بچھا کر اس کے اوپر بیٹھ گئے اور دوسرے پاؤں کو کھڑا کیا، پھر تکبیر کہی اور سجدہ کیا۔ (ب) ایک قول یہ بھی کہ اس کی سند میں عیسیٰ بن عبداللہ سے روایت ہے، انھوں نے عباس بن سہل سے سنا کہ انھوں نے ابوحمید، ابواسید اور دیگر حضرات کو نماز میں حاضر کیا۔

2731 Abbas bin Sahal bin Saad Saeedi se riwayat hai ki woh us majlis mein thay jis mein un ke walid bhi thay jo sahabi Rasool hain Iss majlis mein Abu Hurairah Abu Saeed aur Abu Humaid Saeedi Ansari (Razi Allahu Anhum) bhi thay Unhon ne namaz ka tazkara kiya to Abu Humaid (Razi Allahu Anhu) kehne lage ki main tum sab se zyada Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki namaz ke bare mein janta hun Phir mukammal hadees zikar ki Iss mein yeh bhi hai ki unhon ne Allahu Akbar keh kar sajda kiya aur apne hathon ghutnon aur qadmon ki seedhi taraf khara kiya aur sajda kiya Phir takbeer keh kar baith gaye aur ek tang bicha kar us ke upar baith gaye aur dusre paaon ko khara kiya phir takbeer kahi aur sajda kiya b Aik qaul yeh bhi ki iss ki sanad mein Isa bin Abdullah se riwayat hai unhon ne Abbas bin Sahal se suna ki unhon ne Abu Humaid Abu Saeed aur deegar hazrat ko namaz mein hazir kiya

٢٧٣١ -وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ الْحَافِظُ قَالَ:أنبأ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الْبَغَوِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْفَرْغَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَدْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْحُرِّ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ أَحَدِ بَنِي مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ أَبُوهُ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبُو أُسَيْدٍ وَأَبُو حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَأَنَّهُمْ تَذَاكَرُوا الصَّلَاةَ،فَقَالَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ:أَنَا أَعْلَمُكُمْ بِصَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ فِيهِ:ثُمَّ قَالَ:" اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، فَسَجَدَ وَانْتَصَبَ عَلَى كَفَّيْهِ وَرُكْبَتَيْهِ وَصُدُورِ قَدَمَيْهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ، ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ فَجَلَسَ فَتَوَرَّكَ إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ وَنَصَبَ قَدَمَهُ الْأُخْرَى، ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ وَسَجَدَ "وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ وَقَدْ قِيلَ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ أَنَّهُ حَضَرَ أَبَا حُمَيْدٍ وَأَبَا أُسَيْدٍ وَرِجَالًا مِنْهُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
