Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) informed the people of the death of Negus (Ashama ibn Abjar) on the very day he died. He (the Prophet) then went out with the people to the place of prayer, arranged them in rows, and said four Takbirs over (the funeral prayer in absentia).
(In another narration) narrated by Imam Shafi'i and Abdullah, with the wording reported by Yahya, it is stated that (the Prophet) went out for the funeral prayer and said four Takbirs. Imam Bukhari also mentioned this in his Sahih.

(٦٩٣١) ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے لوگوں کو نجاشی کی موت کی خبر دی ۔ اس دن جس دن وہ فوت ہوا اور ان کے ساتھ نماز کے لیے نکلے اور ان کی صفیں بنائیں اور چار تکبیرات کہیں۔
امام شافعی اور عبداللہ کی حدیث کے الفاظ یحییٰ کی روایت میں ہیں کہ وہ جنازے کے لیے نکلے اور چار تکبیرات کہیں۔ اسے امام بخاری نے اپنی صحیح میں بھی بیان کیا۔
(6931) Abu Hurairah (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (SAW) ne logon ko Najashi ki maut ki khabar di. Iss din jis din woh foot hua aur un ke saath namaz ke liye nikle aur un ki safein banayein aur chaar takbeerat kaheen.
Imam Shafi aur Abdullah ki hadees ke alfaz Yahya ki riwayat mein hain keh woh janaze ke liye nikle aur chaar takbeerat kaheen. Issay Imam Bukhari ne apni Sahih mein bhi bayan kiya.
Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) informed us about the death of Negus (ruler of Abyssinia), the day he died and said: "Ask forgiveness for your brother." Abu Huraira (RA) further said: He (ﷺ) arranged their rows for the prayer and pronounced four Takbirs.

(٦٩٣٢) حضرت ابو ہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہمیں نجاشی کی موت کی خبر دی ( جو صاحبِ حبشہ ہیں) جس دن وہ فوت ہوا اور فرمایا : کہ اپنے بھائی کے لیے استغفار کرو۔
ابوہریرہ (رض) نے یہ بات بھی بیان کی کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز کے لیے ان کی صفیں بنائیں اور چار تکبیرات کہیں۔
(6932) Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (SAW) ne humein Najashi ki maut ki khabar di (jo sahib e Habsha hain) jis din wo fout hua aur farmaya: Ke apne bhai ke liye istighfar karo. Abu Huraira (RA) ne yeh baat bhi bayaan ki keh aap (SAW) ne namaz ke liye unki safain banayein aur chaar takbeerat kaheen.
Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the funeral prayer of Ashama the Negus (ruler of Abyssinia) and said four Takbirs.

(٦٩٣٣) جابر بن عبداللہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اصحمہ نجاشی کی نماز جنازہ پڑھی اور چار تکبیرات کہیں۔
(6933) jabir bin abdullah (rz) farmate hain keh rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ashama najashi ki namaz janaza parhi aur chaar takbeerat kahin.
Shu'bi narrates that I was informed by someone who was with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to a deep grave, aligned his companions in rows, himself stood forward and led their funeral prayer, and recited four Takbeers. Salman says: I asked, "O Abu 'Amr, who told you this Hadith?" He replied, "Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)."

(٦٩٣٤) شعبی فرماتے ہیں کہ مجھے اس نے خبر دی جو نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ تھا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک گہری قبر کے پاس آئے اور ان کی صفیں بنائیں اور خود آگے کھڑے ہوئے اور اس کی نماز جنازہ پڑھی اور چار تکبیرات پڑھیں۔ سلمان کہتے ہیں : میں نے کہا اے ابو عمرو تجھے یہ حدیث کس نے سنائی ہے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : ابن عباس (رض) نے۔
(6934) Shabi farmate hain ki mujhe is ne khabar di jo Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath tha ki aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ek gehri qabar ke pass aaye aur un ki safein banayein aur khud aage kharay huye aur is ki namaz janaza parhi aur chaar takbeerat parhin. Salman kahte hain : maine kaha aye Abu Amr tujhe ye hadees kis ne sunaayi hai? Unhon ne kaha : Ibn Abbas (Raz) ne.
Abu Umama bin Sahl narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the funeral prayer of a woman and said four Takbeers.

(٦٩٣٦) ابو امامہ بن سہل اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک عورت کی قبر پر جنازہ پڑھا اور چار تکبیرات کہیں۔
(6936) Abu Imama bin Sahal apne walid se naql farmate hain ke Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ek aurat ki qabar par janaza parha aur chaar takbeerat kahin.
Abdullah bin Abu Awfa reported: I was present at a funeral and they said four Takbirs over the deceased. Then they paused for a while and supplicated and said: What do you think if I say five Takbirs? They said: No, verily the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say four Takbirs.
Ibrahim Hijri narrated it from Ibn Abi Awfa with similar meaning except that they said: We have seen this, but I do not say that you should not do it, for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say four Takbirs. Then you may stay as long as Allah wills.

(٦٩٣٧) عبداللہ بن ابو اوفیٰ فرماتے ہیں : میں جنازے میں حاضر ہوا تو انھوں نے جنازے پر چار تکبیرات کہیں ۔ پھر کچھ دیر ٹھہرے اور دعا کی اور فرمایا : تمہارا کیا خیال ہے میں پانچ تکبیرات کہنا چاہتا ہوں ؟ انھوں نے کہا : نہیں بیشک رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) چار تکبیرات کہتے تھے۔
ابراہیم ہجری نے ابن ابی اوفیٰ سے انھیں معانی میں حدیث بیان کی۔ سوائے اس کے کہ انھوں نے کہا : ہم نے یہ دیکھا، لیکن میں ایسا نہیں کہ نہ کروں، کیونکہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) چار تکبیرات کہا کرتے تھے۔ پھر جس قدر اللہ چاہتے آپ ٹھہرے رہتے۔
(6937) Abdullah bin Abu Aufa farmate hain : mein janaze mein hazir hua to unhon ne janaze par chaar takbeerat kaheen . Phir kuch dair thehre aur dua ki aur farmaya : tumhara kya khayal hai mein panch takbeerat kehna chahta hun ? Unhon ne kaha : nahin beshak Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) chaar takbeerat kehte thay.
Ibrahim Hijri ne Ibn Abi Aufa se unhen maani mein hadees bayaan ki. Siwaye is ke ke unhon ne kaha : hum ne yeh dekha, lekin mein aisa nahin kehna karun, kyunki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) chaar takbeerat kaha karte thay. Phir jis qadar Allah chahte aap thehre rahte.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The angels offered the funeral prayer of Adam (peace be upon him) and said four Takbeers and said: O children of Adam! This is your way.

(٦٩٣٩) حضرت ابی (رض) روایت فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : فرشتوں نے آدم (علیہ السلام) کا جنازہ پڑھا اور چار تکبیرات کہیں اور کہا : اے آدم کی اولاد ! تمہارا طریقہ یہی ہے۔
(6939) Hazrat Abi (RA) riwayat farmate hain keh Nabi Kareem (SAW) ne farmaya: Farishto ne Adam (AS) ka janaza parha aur chaar takbeerat kahin aur kaha: Aye Adam ki aulad! Tumhara tareeqa yahi hai.
