Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 12048
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever food was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), if it was said: "It is a gift," then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would eat from it. But if it was said: "It is charity," then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would not eat from it.

(١٢٠٤٨) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس جب کھانا لایا جاتا۔ اگر کہا جاتا : ہدیہ ہے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھی کھالیتے۔ اگر کہا جاتا : صدقہ ہے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نہ کھاتے تھے۔

١٢٠٤٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ، ثنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ" إِذَا أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ سَأَلَ عَنْهُ،فَإِنْ قِيلَ:هَدِيَّةٌ، أَكَلَ مِنْهَا،وَإِنْ قِيلَ:صَدَقَةٌ، لَمْ يَأَكُلْ مِنْهَا "رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ
