Chapter on the Prophet (peace be upon him) Wiping Over Khuffs During Travel and Residence Alike
باب مسح النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على الخفين في السفر والحضر جميعا
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 1297
Sayyiduna Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that we were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (the Prophet) stayed behind on the way, and I also stayed behind with him, carrying a small bucket. He went aside to relieve himself, then came to me. I poured water over his hands, and he performed ablution. It was the time of the Fajr prayer. When he washed his face and intended to wash his forearms, the sleeve of his shirt became tight. He (the Prophet) was wearing a Syrian jubbah. He brought his hands out from under his jubbah, then performed ablution and wiped over his socks.

(١٢٩٧) سیدنا مغیرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ سفر میں تھے، راستے میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پیچھے رہ گئے اور میں بھی ڈول لے کر آپ کے پیچھے رہا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) قضائے حاجت کے لیے الگ ہوئے، پھر میرے پاس آئے۔ میں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ہاتھوں پر پانی ڈالا، آپ نے وضو کیا اور صبح کی نماز کا وقت تھا۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنا چہرہ دھویا اور اپنے بازوؤں کو دھونے کا ارادہ کیا تو آپ کے جبے کی آستین تنگ ہوگی، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر شامی جبہ تھا، آپ نے جبے کے نیچے سے ہاتھ نکالے، پھر وضو کیا اور موزوں پر مسح کیا۔
(1297) Syedna Mughirah (RA) farmate hain ki hum Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath safar mein thay, raste mein aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) peeche reh gaye aur main bhi dol le kar aap ke peeche raha, aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) qaza hajat ke liye alag huye, phir mere pass aaye. Maine aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke hathon par pani dala, aap ne wuzu kiya aur subah ki namaz ka waqt tha. Jab aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apna chehra dhoya aur apne bazuon ko dhone ka irada kiya to aap ke jabe ki aasteen tang hogi, aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) par shami jeba tha, aap ne jeba ke neeche se hath nikale, phir wuzu kiya aur mozon par masah kiya.
١٢٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ إِمْلَاءً، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَطَّانُ أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةَ،قَالَ:" كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي بَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ تَخَلَّفَ وَتَخَلَّفْتُ مَعَهُ بِإِدَاوَةٍ فَتَبَرَّزَ، ثُمَّ أَتَانِي فَسَكَبْتُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَذَلِكَ عِنْدَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ، فَلَمَّا غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَأَرَادَ غَسْلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ ضَاقَ كُمَّا جُبَّتِهِ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ "رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيِّ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ
