Chapter on the Timing of Wiping Over Khuffs
باب التوقيت في المسح على الخفين
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 1311
Narrated Safwan bin Assal (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent out a Sariya (military detachment)..." Then he (the narrator) mentioned a long Hadith and said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "When anyone of you is on a journey, he may wipe over his socks for three days and three nights; and when not on a journey (he may wipe over them) for one day and one night."

(١٣١١) سیدنا صفوان بن عسال مرادی (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک سریہ بھیجا۔۔۔ پھر لمبی حدیث ذکر کی۔ اس میں ہے کہ آپ نے فرمایا : جب تم میں سے کوئی مسافر ہو تو وہ موزوں پر تین دن اور تین راتیں مسح کرے اور جب مقیم ہو تو ایک دن اور ایک رات (مسح کرے) ۔
(1311) Sayyidna Safwan bin Asal Muradi (RA) se riwayat hai ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ek sariya bheja... phir lambi hadees zikar ki. Is mein hai ke Aap ne farmaya: Jab tum mein se koi musafir ho to wo mozon par teen din aur teen raaten masah kare aur jab muqeem ho to ek din aur ek raat (masah kare).
١٣١١ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ عَطِيَّةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ ثنا أَبُو الْغَرِيفِ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ الْمُرَادِيِّ،قَالَ:بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ وَفِيهِ ⦗٤١٦⦘ قَالَ:" فَلْيَمْسَحْ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ إِذَا كَانَ مُسَافِرًا ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ وَإِذَا كَانَ مُقِيمًا فَيَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةً "
