Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 13710
When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intended to give one of his daughters in marriage, he would go to her and say, "Such and such a man has proposed to such and such a woman." If she spoke, he would consider her disapproval and not proceed with the marriage. However, if she remained silent, he would take it as her consent and proceed with the marriage.

(١٣٧١٠) نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب اپنی کسی بیٹی کی شادی کا ارادہ کرتے تو اس کے پاس جاتے اور اس کو کہتے کہ فلاں مرد نے فلاں عورت کا ارادہ کیا ہے۔ اگر وہ کلام کرتی تو اس کو ناپسند کرتے اور شادی نہ کرتے اور اگر وہ خاموش ہوجاتی تو شادی کردیتے تھے۔

١٣٧١٠ - أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ،عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ حَيَّةَ الثَّقَفِيِّ قَالَ:كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُزَوِّجَ إِحْدَى بَنَاتِهِ يَجْلِسُ إِلَى خِدْرِهَا،فَقَالَ لَهَا:"إِنَّ فُلَانًا يَذْكُرُ فُلَانَةَ"، فَإِنْ تَكَلَّمَتْ فَكَرِهَتْ لَمْ يُزَوِّجْهَا، وَإِنْ هِيَ صَمَتَتْ زَوَّجَهَا "وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو حَرِيزٍ قَاضِي سِجِسْتَانَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، وَعَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا
