Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 16838
Zaid bin Arqam narrated that during a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the people faced great hardship. Abdullah bin Ubayy said to his companions, "Do not spend on those who are with Allah's Messenger until they leave you. When we return to Medina, we will expel these lowly people from it; we are the honorable ones." I heard this and informed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He summoned Abdullah bin Ubayy who swore that he had not said such a thing. The people then started saying, "Zaid has lied about the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." I was troubled by their accusations, remembering what they had said. Then Allah, the Exalted, revealed Surah Al-Munafiqun (the Hypocrites), confirming my statement. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called them and said, "Come, let me pray for your forgiveness." They turned their faces away. These people used to beautify themselves outwardly.

(١٦٨٣٨) زید بن ارقم کہتے ہیں کہ ایک سفر میں ہم نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ نکلے، لوگوں کو اس میں بہت تکلیف پہنچی تو عبداللہ بن ابی اپنے ساتھیوں کو کہنے لگا : جو اللہ کے رسول کے پاس ہیں، ان پر تم خرچ نہ کرنا یہاں تک کہ وہ آپ کے ارد گرد سے ہٹ جائیں اور ہم مدینہ جا کر اس سے ان ذلیلوں کو نکال دیں گے۔ ہم عزت والے ہیں تو میں نے یہ سنا اور جا کر نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو بتادیا : آپ نے اسے بلا کر پوچھا تو اس نے قسم اٹھا دی کہ اس نے ایسا کچھ نہیں کہا تو لوگ کہنے لگے : زید نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو جھوٹ بولا ہے تو میرے دل میں جو انھوں نے کہا تھا خیال آیا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے میری تصدیق میں سورة المنافقون نازل فرما دی تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کو بلایا اور فرمایا : آؤ تمہارے لیے دعائے مغفرت کر دوں تو انھوں نے سر پھیر لیے۔ یہ لوگ بہت خوبصورت تھے۔

١٦٨٣٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مِلْحَانَ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا زُهَيْرٌ، ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ،قَالَ:خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ أَصَابَ النَّاسَ فِيهِ شِدَّةٌ،قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ لِأَصْحَابِهِ:لَا تُنْفِقُوا عَلَى مَنْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى يَنْفَضُّوا مِنْ حَوْلِهِ،⦗٣٤٥⦘ وَقَالَ:لَئِنْ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْأَذَلَّ،قَالَ:فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ،قَالَ:فَبَعَثَنِي إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ، فَاجْتَهَدَ يَمِينَهُ بِاللهِ مَا فَعَلَ،قَالَ:فَقَالُوا: كَذَبَ زَيْدٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،قَالَ:فَوَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِي مَا قَالُوا، حَتَّى أَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَصْدِيقِي فِي{إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ}[المنافقون: ١]،قَالَ:وَدَعَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيَسْتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ، فَلَوَّوْا رُءُوسَهُمْ،وَقَوْلُهُ:{كَأَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُسَنَّدَةٌ}[المنافقون: ٤]،قَالَ:كَانُوا رِجَالًا أَجْمَلَ شَيْءٍ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ، وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ
